Meeting to discuss Bullsmoor site, housing options and leisure centre

We are holding a members meeting on Weds 21st Sept, 7.30pm, at Strutts, Derby Road, to consider three important issues.

1. The development brief for the Bullsmoor site - a proposal outlining the type of industrial development to be allowed on the site off Nottingham Road.  Please see the Borough Council agenda item discussed at their meeting on 15 August, and on which they are now consulting between 22 August and 3 October (http://www.ambervalley.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/councillors,-democra...).

Coppice Brook Walk

On Sunday 24 July, Belper Civic Forum led a special walk along the Coppice Brook, exploring its route through the town, finding out what wildlife lives in it, and hearing about stories associated with it.  A really enjoyable afternoon, with pond dipping for youngsters, and 'eye spy' quiz, and a chance to learn how we have adapted the brook and its setting. and how it has influenced the way we live.
The Civic Forum would like to thank a range of volunteers, the Drop Inn centre and Pottery School for their help in arranging the event - we had about 20 people enjoy the walk, and a similar number carried on to look at the proposed Bullsmoor industrial development site.
